Located near a lively night market and various restaurants, the August Hostel offers a prime location for exploring the city. the staff, who speak excellent English, are helpful in organizing excursions and providing information. the dorm rooms are clean and include comfortable beds with individual curtains, lights, and shelves for added privacy and convenience. Guests can also enjoy a simple but satisfying breakfast and access to a well-maintained kitchen and common areas.

The hostel lacks a vibrant social atmosphere, making it challenging for solo travelers to meet new people.

The staff were absolutely amazing, always willing to help and provide assistance with any questions or concerns. They were knowledgeable about local activities and provided useful recommendations. The hostel had a great atmosphere for meeting new people, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained.

There were a few drawbacks during my stay. there were an excessive amount of mosquitoes in the hostel, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the space.

Our stay at August was overall very pleasant. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city with easy access to cafes and cheap food options. We appreciated that the hostel was close to everything in the old town area, including the temples and Sunday market street. The host was particularly helpful, giving us valuable guidance and directions for exploring Chiang Mai. Additionally, it was a nice touch that someone reached out to us via email to ensure a smooth check-in process. Despite a few minor inconveniences, like a shared bathroom and some noise issues, our room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hostel for a short stay in Chiang Mai.
